Load Shedding

What is loading shedding ?

Load Shedding in refrigeration is simply the fitting of timers to the equipment to switch certain units off when the retail environment is closed.

Can this be done on every fridge ?

We normally recommend only doing load shedding on non dairy beverage fridges

Can this be done everywhere ?

We recommend load shedding in moderate climates only. If the temperature at night does not drop below 19 degrees Celsius, then load shedding may not be economically viable

What is the typical saving and payback ?

The typical saving is approximately 15% and the payback is normally less than 18 months

Deep Cleaning

Why does deep cleaning increase energy efficiency ?

Deep cleaning frees up air flow within the cabinets and reduces energy consumption. This causes compressors operate for less time

How much energy can be saved ?

Depending on the age of the system and recently deep cleaning has been done, savings of up to 20% can be achieved

Can deep cleaning be done easily ?

Deep cleaning involved completely removing produce from the fridge or freezer and so is normally done after hours

What is the typical payback ?

The typical payback is normally less than 12 months

Night Blinds

Why are night blinds important

The blind seals the cabinet to significantly reduce the ingress of warm air during shop closure.

How much energy can be saved ?

Depending on the size of the system  savings of up to 15% can be achieved

But, I already have night blinds ?

Yes, but do you have them on all fridges and freezers and do staff ensure that they are always drawn when premises are closed

What is the typical payback ?

The typical payback is normally between 12 and 24 months.
